Mike myers puts ny penthouse on the market
It has been years since Austin Powers' International Man of Mystery won a horde of worldwide fans for Mike Myers, paving the way for a career that would take the comedian from Dr. Evil's volcano lair to a CGI swamp in Shrek - both a far cry from the attic Myers inhabited in Wayne's World.
Now, though, the funny man is putting aside his alter ego's shagadelic bachelor pad and selling his more sensible real life property: a three-bedroom penthouse in New York. The Soho unit boasts 14-foot ceilings, bookcases (complete with a ladder) and a custom sound system, not to mention a private landscaped terrace.
Leonard Steinberg of Compass tells WSJ Real Estate the actor was attracted to the property because the building was one floor higher than its surrounding structures, giving it an open view of the area.
The price for the duplex? $16.95 million - over twice the amount he paid for it in 2007. Yeah, baby.
