Introducing silva peak residences - luxury holiday apartments in galtür, austria
Winter sports enthusiasts are increasingly turning to Austria. The slopes and facilities are at least on a par with the best in Switzerland or France, but cheaper — not to mention that no-one does après-ski like the Austrians. The Silva Peak Residences are a new development in the heart of the beautiful Tyrolean village of Galtür, offering easy access to the whole Silvretta region.
The Silva Peak Residences
Built in the Centre of the village, the Silva Peak Residences comprise thirteen two-bedroom and four three-bedroom apartments, all designed to luxurious standards with fittings by Hans Grohe and Siemans. Each apartment offers a double sofa bed in the lounge as well as the bedrooms, and at least one private balcony to enjoy the stunning views.
This holiday accommodation in Galtür, managed by experienced local hoteliers, is located just 50m from the stop for the ski bus. Facilities include underground parking, free Wi-Fi and a private wellness area that includes sauna and steam room.
Galtür
Recommended by the Guardian as one of the top ten Austrian ski resorts, especially for experienced skiers, Galtür nestles at 1585m in the Silvretta area of Tyrol, close to the Swiss border. Ten lifts take skiers up to a height of 2300m to enjoy 40km of pistes. All abilities are catered for, but Galtür is best known for its black runs, including the exhilarating two-mile descent into Vorarlberg.
The pass covers the whole Silvretta area, and Ischgl, with its more extensive range of slopes, is only a short drive or bus ride away. This includes the Silvretta Snowpark, which offers something for the whole family. The terrain also provides some beautiful opportunities for cross-country skiing, while in summer the area around Galtür is a perfect for hiking, climbing, mountain-biking and fishing. The village also hosts events such as the International Alpine Cheese Olympics.
Galtür's après-ski is relatively quiet compared with party resorts like St Anton or Ischgl, but its venues are entertaining and fairly family friendly. As seen on Trip Advisor, its choice of restaurants is excellent, both in the village and on the mountains, with places like the Alpenrose and the Paznaunerhof serving excellent traditional fare.
And, if you do get a hankering for something more exuberant, Ischgl's legendary Bars are easy to get to.
