Overseas work key to australian career success

Experience working overseas is key to a successful Australian career, according to new research from PwC.

The firm's study finds that there are few people in ASX-listed companies who have not spent time overseas: "Very few have spent their full careers working in Australia," partner Jonathan Dunlea tells AFR.com.
 
Only one in four Australians working overseas are women, though, says Dunlea, as women face more obstacles in securing expat work. One issue, notes Dunlea, is that they are more likely to be part of a two-career household, so jobs overseas have to be found for two people looking to relocate.
