One in three hong kong oaps live in poverty
One in three elderly residents in Hong Kong live in poverty, reveal new figures.
Over 1.3 million live in poverty out of 7.2 million people. While that number has dropped from 1.336 million in 2013 to 1.325 million in 2014, there is still large portion of elderly residents struggling, due to a fast-ageing population: elderly poverty has risen by 19 per cent since 2009.
