According to a poll by Urlaub Perfekt magazine, the Eastern European country is a particular favourite among people from Germany. Bulgaria was rated fifth in the overall rankings, behind more established tourist markets such as Spain.

The poll was based on a number of criteria, including overall affordability and the quality of available holiday accommodation. Other issues under consideration included the level of customer service that tourists received, along with the country’s appeal to family groups.

Almost one in four respondents picked Bulgaria as their favourite location, with the Black Sea region receiving special praise. The findings could serve to enhance the appeal of the country among overseas property buyers.
