Italy investors in ‘winter warning’

Buying property in Italian tourist spots during winter is not a good idea, claims HiFX…

This is because, according to the company, prices in Italy are cheaper in the summer than winter.

Mark Bodega, director of Currency exchange firm HiFX said: “A growing number of people who want to generate wealth from rental yields are currently looking at tourist spots in Italy. Skiing resorts are especially popular locations, as these places tend to have high demand for rental accommodation from winter sports fans.

”Since demand is at its peak during the winter season, I would advise prospective investors to avoid purchasing at this time. Prices are on average five to ten per cent cheaper in the summer compared to January to March. Small villages that have just been connected to larger resorts by ski lifts also offer potential bargains and good scope for growth.
