Spain’s construction on the up

Spain’s construction activity is on the up, according to new figures from the European Commission statistical office.

The Eurostat figures show that the production of construction sector in Spain rose 7 per cent in August 2013 compared to the same month in 2012, the third largest in the European Union, where overall construction fell 4.7 per cent.

On a monthly scale, construction edged up 0.5 per cent in the eurozone, Kyero adds, slightly lower than the 0.7 per cent increase recorded in the previous month. Spain again was ahead of the average, with activity climbing 1.1 per cent.
