Antonio banderas and melanie griffith put property on sale
Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith have put their Los Angeles home on the market.
The Hollywood couple first bought the home in 1999 for just over $4 million, before expanding it with the purchase of a lot next door. The Italian revival home now spans an impressive 15,000 square feet. Designed by Gordon B. Kaufmann, who also gave us the Hoover Dam, the estate has everything a pair of movie stars could ask for: the home boasts no fewer than 13 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, not to mention a two-storey banquet hall and - of course a private elevator.
The rose gardens and swimming pool alone ooze cinematic style; the kind of style that attracts US Presidents to hold fundraisers there, if you believe press reports.
The actors married in 1996, after appearing together in the film Two Much. Banderas is now best known for his work as Puss in Boots in the DreamWorks animated Shrek franchise, while Griffith was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in 1988 for Working Girl.
Last year, though, the pair announced their plans to divorce due to "irreconcilable differences". Now, they are preparing to part with their luxurious property too, reports the Wall Street Journal. A photographic tour of the listing can be found on the official Hancock Park Estate website. The asking price? $16.1 million.
