Photo of the week: a barnacle you can live in

Living inside a barnacle may not sound like your dream seaside home, but a new design from Modscape might make you reconsider. The pre-fab architectures specialists have proposed the designs for a home that hangs off a cliff in Victoria, Australia, in the same way that a barnacle clings to the side of a ship.

The modular home would allow residents to enter though a carport on ground level at the end of a cliff, before descending each storey in an elevator. The interior may be minimal, but that is intentional on the part of the architects to highlight the stunning ocean view - in case you forgot you were hanging off the edge of a cliff.
