Investors eye italy's 'luscious lake'

Lake Garda is the undisputed star of the Italian Lake district, argues one company...

Lake Garda is Italy’s largest lake and the undoubted star of the Italian Lake district, with its popularity borne from stunning natural beauty and the world class facilities it offers.

Now, a firm favourite for holidaymakers and property investors, it is ideally placed with six airports servicing the region, making air travel competitively cheap and easily accessed from all major UK airports.

There are three main airports which service Lake Garda: Verona Brescia, Verona Catullo and Milan Bergamo. However, it is backed up by Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa and Venice Marco Polo Airports.

Easily accessible

There is a wide choice of departing airports to choose from including; Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands, Liverpool, Luton, Newcastle, Dublin, Shannon, Belfast and Glasgow.

Sarah Ferrara, Managing Director of Garda Homes, says, “Many popular overseas destinations suffer from a lack of accessibility, meaning travel time can be increased and flights cost a premium. The same cannot be said of Lake Garda which has an abundance of airports and competitive carriers.

Daily low-cost flights can be found from every part of the UK with Ryanair even offering day trips from Milan Bergamo to Rome, Barcelona and Paris, with flights leaving daily at 8.30am and returning in time for supper. Overnight trips are possible also to Seville and Vienna.

This further enhances the position of Lake Garda with day trips to Milan, Venice, Verona and Rome, as well as other major European cities, easily achievable.”

Something for everyone

Lake Garda really has something to offer everyone with a host of designer shops, street cafes, restaurants and trattorias offering home cooked Italian dishes and all at incredibly good value.

Outdoor enthusiasts have a large list of water sports to choose from, along with hiking, rock climbing, horse riding, mountain biking, golf and tennis.

Visitors between the months of November and April are only 40 minutes drive away from the nearest ski slopes and world class ski resorts such as Madonna di Campiglio 1 hr 45 minutes away.
