Singapore introduces strict guidelines on overseas property ads

Singapore has introduced new, stricter guidelines on advertising overseas property.

The Consumers Association of Singapore says that Singaporeans have increasingly bought properties overseas, leading to a rise in the number of foreign properties advertised in the country. However, there has also been a rise in the number of complaints received, with some consumers sais they did not receive the returns promised.

From the middle of August, the new guidelines will take effect, with the aim of elimating speculative, misleading of unsubstantiated claims from property adverts.
