Cyprus btl booming

Cyprus is enjoying the fruits of a property boom and has been for years…

In the last few days, Gulf Times reported that CYPRUS Island Homes and developer ONI and Co have announced jointly that their third property exhibition will be held next week in Doha. It is not just the British who are being attracted to the Mediterranean island.

Of course, buyers may find many reasons for investing in property on the island. A large holiday market for buy-to-let and rising prices over recent years are two of them. Snow may be another, for though its Southern latitudes may offer plenty in the way of sun, sand and sea all the year round, it also offers ski areas which are an additional element to a wide variety of tourist attractions.

Just to prove such things are true, the Famagusta Gazette reported today that 15 centimetres of snow fell in Troodos, while up on Mount Olympus 30 centimetres were recorded.

Ski potential?

Writing about Mount Olympus, the highest point on the island, travel writer Mark Moxon noted that the mountain has four pistes and three ski lifts. While stating that "Nobody comes to Cyprus specifically to ski", the activity was a fun one and well worth doing when it did snow. Based on this, investors may find the best bet is to find a place in range of the ski slopes but still fairly close to the sea. Given the size of the island, of course, this should not be hard.

While Cypriots check their new-look Change and consider their voting options for the presidency - not to mention the future which may follow - those involved in investing in Cyprus may simply keep on doing what they always have. They will look for the best new opportunities on an island where the last few years have seen a boom in property and new possibilities may continue to arise.
