One-fifth of parents to spend $500 on each child for christmas
One-fifth of US parents will spend up to $500 on each child this Christmas, according to new research.
The study by Urban Sitter found that 21 per cent of parents will spend between $200 and $500 for each of their children in the 2013 festive season. Almost the same number of parents, on the other hand, will spend less than $50 per child.
Nonetheless, the majority of parents are prepared to think big when it comes to Santa’ sack, spending between $100 and $200 per child. Just 3 per cent of parents will go even further and splash cash to the tune of over $500.

Nannies are set to enjoy big bonuses this Christmas too, Urban Sitter adds, with the majority of parents in the US spending one week’s pay on the full-time caregivers for their family.
