First look: herzog & de meuron’s jade signature

Now, though, the mysterious Florida development designed by Herzog & de Meuron has finally been unveiled to the world.

The condo tower, which is being built in Sunny Isles Beach, has had its first renderings released by BuzzBuzzHome (via Curbed), revealing an impressive structure from the architecture firm, who have given the world such stunning buildings as the Tate Modern in London and the Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Olympic Games.

The surprising thing about their latest project? It looks a lot like something they created nearby: a car park in Miami Beach, 1111 Lincoln Beach.

The exterior of the structure Sees a series of curved pillars accentuate the platformed nature of the building and gives relatively unobstructed views for residents on its floor - to the point where you can virtually see through the whole tower. It becomes more impressive the closer you look: of particular interest is the circular ring that hovers above the “beach pavilion”.

How much does it cost to live in a Herzog & de Meuron home? The 192 condos and apartments in the building range from $1.7 million to over $25 million. It is scheduled for completion in 2016.
