Photo of the week: best wallpaper ever?

Photo: Sebastian Masuda (via My Modern Met)

The design, which has been displayed in New York this year, is called Colourful Rebellion - Seventh Nightmare and was created by Sebastian Masuda. It takes the idea of re-using and recycling materials for interior decor and takes it to a dazzling, disturbing extreme: the innards of a giant multi-coloured teddy bear, combined with everything from plastic toy soldiers to furniture from dollhouses, are splattered up the walls, resulting in an eye-popping collage of childhood bits and bobs.

My Modern Met notes that the design riffs on Masuda's seven deadly sins, which include illusion, desire, trauma, future, destiny, reality and self-identification. The result is a tapestry of "colourful objects associated with child’s play to reveal the complexity, darkness and obsessions composing his inner world". Or, as some would argue, the greatest wallpaper ever conceived.

Either way, the photos of the installation are a sight to behold - if only to make sure your kids do nothing of the sort this Bank Holiday.
