Britons seek winter warmth in sunny spain

Sunny Spain is proving winter warmth for Brits looking to get away from the grey climate at home.

According to the UK Office for National Statistics, 1.15 million Brits are planning to take a break overseas in the coming eight weeks. Spain, it seems, is top of the list, with the number of Brits visiting Spain jumping 6.6 per cent in August alone, according to the country’s Ministry of Tourism.

Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director of leading Spanish house builder Taylor Wimpey España, comments: “With other traditional winter sun holiday destinations such as Egypt, Tunisia and Greece experiencing troubles over the last few months, more people have turned towards Spain. This spells great news for investor confidence across the country with some looking to make their stay more permanent courtesy of the new 'Golden Visa' which came into force earlier this month.”
