Connie Fisher, winner of the BBC1 reality show How Do You Solve a
Problem Like Maria? may be proud of her new "urban chic" Finsbury Park
flat but misses having a rural retreat...
"I love going home to the country. You can lie in a field and actually see the
stars," she says. The Ulster-born major's daughter was raised on her
grandparents' Pembrokeshire farm near Haverfordwest.
Over Christmas she made her television drama debut playing an Elvis-obsessed
traffic warden in ITV's romp, Caught In a Trap.
In August she begins a nationwide tour in The Sound of Music, reprising her award-winning role as the insufferably treacly Maria von Trapp.
