A first for switzerland

The first branded hotel-residence is to go on sale in Switzerland within the next couple of years...

L'Hotel du Parc, in Chardonne, was visited by Victor Hugo and Pierre Cardin, and will be renovated to its former Belle Epoque glory by the Swiss Development Group (SDG), and renamed ‘Du Parc - Kempinski Private Residences'.

At the unveiling ceremony last week, Nicolas Garnier, CEO of SDG, expressed his enthusiasm at being involved with this innovative project.

Aimed at a discerning buyer the lifestyle facilities will include five-star hotel services provided by Le Mirador Kempinski Mont-Pelerin and 24-hour concierge services provided by Quintessentially.

Winston Churchill's favourite, Davidoff, will be involved with creating the cigar lounge, and the 670 square metre spa will be Givenchy-branded.

The building sits on the hillside of a UNESCO site, with magnificent views down to Lake Geneva, and the 24 private residences are due to be completed in early 2011. Planning permission has also been applied for the development of 12 smaller apartments to accommodate visitors or staff.

With starting prices of £2.4 million for a two-bedroom apartment, rising to £11.8 million, the residences are to be equipped with cutting-edge appliances and technology and sumptuous furnishings.

Property expert and Director of Sales and Marketing at SDG, Tessa Chaffey believes that these prices are very much inline with property along Lake Geneva. She adds, "As such a project has never before been available on the Swiss market, these are competitive prices.
