Michael jordon puts chicago mansion up for auction
The Lake Michigan estate, which spans a staggering 56,000 square-feet, was originally listed by the former Chicago Bulls player back in February 2012. Bugs Bunny’s erstwhile co-star had lived in the property for 20 years but decided to part ways after his three children had grown up, leaving him with little need for all that space.
The asking price for the nine-bedroom mansion? $29 million, which made it the most expensive property listing in the area of all time.
Fast forward to 2013, though, and after failing to find a buyer, the six-time NBA champion has decided to throw the home under the hammer instead. There is no reserve for the mansion, reports The Daily Mail, but bidders will be required to submit a deposit of $250,000: a bargain for a building that includes 19 bathrooms and no fewer than five fireplaces, not to mention an indoor basketball complex (complete with competition lighting) and three climate-controlled garages.
The auction will take place on 22nd November. The lucky winner will be greeted by the estate’s large gated entrance, which proudly displays the number 23 – the digits that, of course, were last seen on Michael Jordan’s basketball jersey... in Space Jam.
