The poll found that web users in New Jersey regularly search for “Buy gold Bars”, “buy gold coins”, “buy silver bullion” and “buy gold online”, more times than any other US state.

The states with the second and third-highest number of searches relating to gold investment are California and New York.

The statistics arrive as gold undergoes a softening in value, with investors increasingly looking to other alternative assets to diversify their portfolios amid an uncertain economic climate.
