Tennis pros serve up prime properties for sale

With the US Open fast approaching, a volley of tennis pros are taking the time to practise their real estate game - and off the court, the properties being served up for sale are equally smashing.
Fresh from her victory at Wimbledon, Serena Williams and her sister, Venus, have just sold their old apartment. The two-bedroom property, located in Manhattan, was snapped up by the pair in 2005, before it was converted into a one-bedroom unit, with a large walk-in closet. The loft spans 1,800 square feet in total, enough for the Williams sisters to net a tidy $2.1 million from the sale - a sum that joins Serena's already hefty prize winnings from a successful year.
The loft was sold (via Douglas Elliman) to Ted Wells, an attorney who hired NFL's "deflategate", reports Zillow.
Serena and Venus are not the only tennis players making the most of their time away from the court, though: Andy Roddick has also served his own home onto the market.
The retired pro, who now does work as a pundit and commentator for the BBC and other broadcasters, and his wife, actress Brooklyn Decker, have listed their Los Angeles mansion (pictured) this month. The 4,910-square-foot home has floor-to-ceiling windows to make the most of their view over Century City and also boasts five bedrooms and, like the Williams' pad, a walk-in closet.
The property's flashiest feature, though, is the elevator that links its three stories, the kind of extra that has helped the star couple to up their asking price from the $2.792 million their originally paid in 2013 to $3.395 million.
