James cameron to "reside indefinitely" in new zealand
James Cameron has purchased several properties in New Zealand and plans to reside there "indefinitely".
The Canadian director of Aliens and Titanic has already snapped up large a dairy farm in Featherston, an area that he discovered when filming Avatar in 2007. Now, he has added to his real estate portfolio in the country with a property spanning 6.7 hectares and another spanning 41, according to the Land Registry.
Cameron applied for residency in the country under the Investor Plus country thanks to his investment of more than £5.1 million. Indeed, under the act he is required to stay in New Zealand for 88 days over two years, but that should be no obstacle for the hard-working filmmaker:
"James Cameron and his family intend to reside indefinitely in New Zealand," reads the official LINZ record.
"They are acquiring the land as part of a larger acquisition of land in South Wairarapa which they will use as a residence and working farm."
