The TV show host, who also recently starred in Lee Daniels' The Butler, bought the unit on the 57th floor back in 1985, reports the Chicago Tribune. A few years later, she bought the unit below it for just over $1 million.
Oprah was only just getting started, though, going on to buy two more condominiums in 1993 and 1994, both located on the 56th floor for $1 to $1.5 million apiece. She then combined the units to create one big piece of real estate that spanned a whopping 9,625 square feet. The master suite alone takes up one whole floor, according to its listing, while the overall duplex boasts four bedrooms and five full bathrooms, in addition to two kitchens and "breathtaking lake and city views". The phrase "multiple living spaces" in a property listing has never felt like more of an understatement.
Why part with such a gargantuan property investment? According to AOL Real Estate, Winfrey now divides her time between other homes in Hawaii, Tennessee and California.
How much does it cost to live like Oprah? $7.75 million.
