Realtytrac launches housing app with photo recognition
The app, if it works, claims to be able to provide house hunters with information on homes in their area: not only by GPS for when buyers are driving down through the neighbourhood, but also by using the mobile device's camera. Buyers can take a picture of a property and, through a nifty piece of photo recognition, view relevant details about it within the app, from listing status to price and foreclosure information.
particularly for our website where we have seen traffic to our mobile site nearly double in the last year,” says Jamie Moyle, CEO at RealtyTrac.
“Our goal was to create a more engaging and empowering way for the mobile house hunter to find the perfect home or investment property. The property-identifying photo feature makes it easy for consumers and real estate investors to evaluate a property they are standing in front of without even typing in or knowing the address.”
