The company's latest Overseas Living Price index shows that the cost of living abroad in France and Spain is becoming pricier, which may come as some expats planning to retire in Europe.
Turkey continues to rank as one of the most affordable places to live thanks to low prices of everyday groceries, public transport and utilities.
In France, though, bills have increased to be ahead of the UK, despite food shopping generally costing less. Portugal compares favourably when it comes to eating out, although wine is cheapest in Cyprus and Italy.
Diesel is cheaper than petrol in all countries surveyed by the OGC, except for the UK.
Overall, though, New Zealand and Canada are the most expensive places to live. A grocery shop fetches a higher bill in New Zealand, but utility bills cost more in Canada - a fact helped by free water rates in New Zealand.
Canada and New Zealand also share the highest public transport costs, while Canada joins the USA in boasting the biggest bar tabs.
"Our research emphasises how important it is to have a clear idea of costs in your new country before moving there, so you know you can easily afford day-to-day living costs, whatever your financial situation," Angelos Koutsoudes, head of the Overseas Guides Company, told Expat Forum.
