Recovery operation continues following alps plane crash
A recovery operation is continuing today in the Alps, following the crash of a German A320 Airbus.
The flight, operated by Germanwings, crashed in France on Tuesday, killing all 150 passengers on board.
The flight was travelling from Barcelona to Dusseldorf, but crashed for unknown reasons. The flight recorder from the cockpit has already been recovered from the crash site, although it is damaged. The second black box, which records flight data, is yet to be found.
Germanwings chief Thomas Winkelmann has confirmed that 72 of the passengers were German citizens, while UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has confirmed that three British passengers were on board.
