Let it snow
The declining value of the pound is unlikely to affect the popularity
of Europe as a skiing destination, the Ski Club of Great Britain
has suggested...
According to the body, Britons are still likely to choose locations in
countries such as France for
their skiing holidays, as they are easier to access than options in the United States and Canada.
Carrie Hainge of the club explained that "all the big name resorts"
are still in favour.
"In France,
in the three valleys, there is Meribel and Courchevel. These have always been
traditionally popular," she noted, adding that Val d'Isere and Tignes are
also favoured by those looking for a skiing holiday.
Property investors may wish to note these locations, as purchasing chalets in
these areas may result in high investment returns caused by steady demand from
holidaymakers looking to rent a home.
Ms Hainge's comments support recent findings from market analyst Protourisme, which concluded that there
has been a positive start to the winter sports season in France.
