Kenyan beach bar attacked with grenades
Police have confirmed that the targets of the attacks were not holidaymakers from overseas but local people. The incident follows several recent attacks by international terrorist groups on nearby seaside resorts and, in October 2013, a Nairobi shopping mall.
Mr Mwai, a 27 year old tourist on holiday, told the newspaper: “It was a very small Grenade so it could be just an isolated case - someone decided to cause terror or panic."
"This is just a local crime, not something that will not be attached to terrorism," added Aggrey Adoli, the police chief for the coastal region.
The same bar was thrown into the international spotlight in 2012 after Briton Alexander Monson, son of Lord Monson was arrested there by police and later died following a blow to the head.
