300,000 us underwater homes resurfaced last year
300,000 US homes that were underwater resurfaced last year, according CoreLogic.
The firm's latest report reveals that more than 300,00 homes which were previously in negative equity (i.e. they owed more on their mortgages that they homes' actual worth) are now in positive equity.
Approximately 6.3 million homes, or 12.7 percent of all residential properties with a mortgage, are still in negative equity, as of Q1 2014 compared to 6.6 million homes, or 13.4 percent, in the previous quarter.
