Video of the week - abandoned chernobyl town caught on drone
Drones have become the topic of increasing discussion in real estate circles, either because of their cutting edge technological appeal or because of their ability to accidentally catch topless grandmas on camera. The traditional argument for their use as an estate agency tool is that they can capture properties from a usually unseen angle: a striking method to catch buyers' attentions or show a property in full detail.
A new video from Chernobyl, though, emphasises just how powerful drone footage can be. Shot by freelance photographer Danny Cooke, it captures the ruins of Pripyat, Ukraine, which was evacuated following the 1986 nuclear disaster. From the crumbling buildings to the quiet environment, the eerie calm is disquetingly beautiful.
