Russia falls to low against euro
Russia's Rouble fell to its lowest ever level against the euro this week. The Russian currency slide against the US currency to 42.6 roubles per dollar, but fared even worse against the continent's single currency: a euro was worth 54 roubles on Tuesday, reports The Telegraph, which makes the Russian denomination the least valuable since the creation of the euro in 2009.
Russia's central bank has since raised its benchmark interest rate to 9.5 per cent from 8 per cent, surprising experts at Bloomberg and causing the rouble to stay lower, marking its worth month in more than two years.
