Puglia btl has ‘best of both worlds’

Puglia has been recommended as the best place in Italy for buy-to-let investment...

Mark Slaviero, director of property sales service Homes in Italy, said: ‘The overall buy-to-let market in Italy is very good, although lets tend to be seasonal 15-week affairs.

”Property is expensive, but markets established in tourist honeypots such as around Lake Garda and Lake Como, Sardinia and Tuscany, areas such as Abruzzo, Emilio Romagna and Calabria had cheaper property but less developed rental markets.

”Puglia, however, meets both criteria because property is reasonable there and is up-and-coming, but it features in a lot of magazines and articles. It is also becoming popular as a holiday destination.

The Global Property Guide's latest figures showed that the property market in Italy grew by 5.6 per cent in 2007.
