Nevada leads falling us homeownership
Homeownership is falling in the US and Nevada is leading the way, according to new figures.
A report released by Bloomberg shows that Kansas homeownership fell 10 per cent in 2012 compared to 2004, followed by Kansas, which recorded a fall of 6.7 per cent, the second highest drop in homeownership in the years leading up to and following the global financial crisis.
"I was very surprised by that,” Stan Longhofer, director of the Center for Real Estate at Wichita State University, commented on the Kansas figures: “I can’t pinpoint a clear cause and effect. It’s not obvious to me why Kansas has seen a more striking swing in regard to other states.”
