A new Miami development made $1 million an hour in sales following its launch.
The project, the luxurious One Thousand Museum tower, is set to be completed in 2017. Designed by Zaha Hadid, the 62-storey building will be the first in the US to use a glass-fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC) as a performanent outer shell, with 4,8000 pieces of the substance shipped from Dubai to the America.
"Zaha Hadid is a visionary. The buildings she designs not only make headlines worldwide, but also garner critical acclaim and promise to be in history books for generations to come," Louis Birdman, one of the developers, told World Property Journal.
The properties will offer top-notch amenities that include a two-storey health spa, an aquatic Centre, gardens, even spaces, art galleries, a theatre and a private rooftop helipad.
Sales of the units, which were all half-floor properties priced between $5.8 and $6.5 million, went to buyers from the US, Argentina and Mexico City. Within 24 hours of their 24-hour concrete pour totalled $24 million, the equivalent of $1 million per hour.
"If we knew we'd sell $1M an hour, we would have poured longer," joked Birdman.
