Unrest that turned violent prompted the Hong Kong Security Bureau to advise holidaymakers to adjust their travel plans and avoid the capital of Thailand.
Hong Kong issues a “red travel warning”, reports the Bangkok Post, after a meeting between Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and a leader of the protestors did not reach an amicable resolution. The country’s Travel Industry Council also said it would cancel most trains starting from tomorrow “until further notice”.
"Residents intending to visit Bangkok should avoid nonessential travel...those already there should monitor the situation, attend to personal safety and avoid protests and large gatherings of people,” the bureau warned.
