Expats return home to sri lanka

Expats are returning home to Sri Lanka, boosting the number of property sales.

Wilhelm Hammes, director of Lambudi's Sri Lankan website, says that the country is going through a period of Change, as Sri Lankans return to the country they once had to leave due to conflict.

"Right now, it is estimated that about one million people left because of the war and because the war is over, the country is really opening up," he tells OPP Connect, "so there is investment flowing in. People, especially expat Sri Lankans, are looking to move back to Sri Lanka and that is why there are growth opportunities. Also, the general economy is booming, not only the real estate market.”
