Julia child's old home to become yoga retreat

Julia Child's former home is being turned into a yoga retreat. The chef, who has reached Mary Berry levels of fame in the USA, even inspiring a film, Julia & Julia (starring Meryl Streep). Her old home, though, will be transformed from a French cottage into a yoga retreat.

The property was listed on the market at the end of last year, with the sale now about to be completed to Colorado-based life coach Makenna Johnston. She will retain the kitchen, though, modelled after the one in Child's Massaschusetts home, with extra-tall counters and original cooking equipment.

The home has been operating as culinary school for the last 23 years, but will now become a "cooking retreat with excursions in yoga", reports Curbed.

Cooking programmes will begin in 2017, focusing on French cooking in the Julia Child vein.
