Overseas interest on the up down under

Overseas interest continues to climb in Australia's property market, according to one agency.

Century 21 says that it has seen a surge in visitors to its Australian website from developing nations such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Indeed, BRICS countries accounted for half of the top 10 sources of annual growth in traffic. 

"I think it may come as a surprise to many people that while there is increasing online interest from China in Australian property, the top three sources of website traffic from overseas are the USA, UK and New Zealand," Century 21 Australasia Chairman and Owner, Charles Tarbey, told the Daily Examiner.

"China placed eighth as a source of traffic to our Australian website and fourth in terms of growth in visitor numbers."
