German real estate association calls for tougher professional qualifications
The German association of consultants, brokers, managers and professionals (Immobilienverband Deutschland) is calling for tougher professional qualifications for agents in the industry.
A new bill from the Federal Ministry of Economics introducing a certificate of competence for agents and managers has been welcomed by IVD, but the president has called for higher requirements.
IVD President, Jürgen Michael Schick, comments: "This is a milestone for the industry and the reputation of the profession. This consumer protection is truly strengthened. However, we would have wished that the quality requirements go further. This must now be incorporated into the subsequent ordinance."
