In pictures: the addams family home set... In colour

They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky... but only when they’re in black and white, judging by new photos of The Addams Family house.

The set for the original TV show, which aired in 1964, was a monochrome world of shadow and Gothic interior design. But photos taken by Richard Fish, which have just been released for the first time at Boing Boing (via Curbed), reveal that in real life, The Addams Family lived in a colour world of cluttered, dated decor.

For want of a better word, one of America’s spookiest homes looks... cute.
