Bodrum flying high
After a 60% increased in overseas investors in the last year, the good news
just keeps on coming for Bodrum's burgeoning property market....
It has
been announced that easyJet is to start running new direct flights from London to
Bodrum from April 23. The new flights are to run three days per week; Mondays,
Thursdays, and Saturdays.
These will then become the first direct flights from London to Bodrum, and also
by the biggest name to announce direct flights to Bodrum. The news follows the
recent announcement that major airline Pegasus are to run new flights to
from London to Bodrum via Istanbul.
Growing tourism destination
Julian Walker, Director at Spot Blue commented: "This is yet more good
news for the property market in Bodrum. The announcement of new flights is good
for the property market in any area, but perhaps more so in Bodrum's case,
because the announcement will show potential investors that Bodrum is a growing
tourism destination within Turkey."
Visitor numbers to Turkey reached 23million for 2008, -- as projected -- and are projected to reach 30 million for 2009. These new flights will help ensure these projections are met, by giving tour operators more flights around which to base package holidays, increasing occupancy for owners of resort properties in Bodrum.
Increased occupancy
Mr Walker added: "The fact that the flights are to be run by low cost airline
EasyJet is most beneficial to owners and potential buyers of Bodrum property because
it gives British holiday makers access to short affordable flights, thus making
private holiday rentals in Bodrum more appealing.
"This will increase occupancy on privately rented properties in Bodrum, thus
upping rental yields and making Bodrum property more appealing to Pure investors
and holiday home investors."
