Most expensive us property sale completed... For £147m

The most expensive US property sale has been completed. The property, an 18-acre estate in East Hampton, fetched a staggering total of £147 million.

The beachfront home was formerly owned by Christopher H. Browne. Browne passed aay in 2009, though, leaving the pad to his partner, archirtect Andrew Gordon. The families agreed that Gordon could live the rest of his life at the house. He passed away last year, prompting the home to hit the market.

There, hedge fund manager Barry Rosenstein snapped it up, paying even more than the historic $132.5 million that was spent on a 50-acre farm n Connecticut in recent months.
